![]() When you or a loved one are diagnosed with breast cancer, it is important to be aware of every treatment option available for the most complete care, which may include clinical trials-research studies designed to evaluate new breast cancer treatment and testing options. These studies are the result of a long and deliberate cancer research process that often takes years. Clinical trials test the safety and effectiveness of new or modified treatments using new drugs, unique approaches to surgery or radiation therapy, varied combinations of treatments, or other methods. Common Benefits
As part of 175 trials provided annually, the FHCI offers as many as six breast cancer trials at any given time. These trials are furnished through many prestigious organizations, including the National Cancer Institute, Duke University Medical Center and various pharmaceutical companies. Often, we are the only facility in the Southeast offering such trials.
